Alfred State freshman swimmer Westin Perry (Canisteo Greenwood) has been named the AMCC Swimmer of the Week. Perry is the second Pioneer swimmer to earn the honor this season.
Perry was a triple individual event winner last weekend as the Pioneers defeated Penn State Altoona. He put himself on the record board with his performance in the 100 back when he set a new mark by winning the event in 54.41. Perry also won the 50 back in 25.40 and the 50 free in 23.13 and was part of the 200 medley relay team that won in 1:42.06.
PS-Altoona's Avery Heisey was named the AMCC female swimmer of the week.
The Pioneers head to the Oberlin Invite this weekend for a three-day meet (please note this is a change in the original schedule). Action starts at 5 p.m. on Friday evening.
