Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) was named to the All-Tournament team at the Lycoming Tournament this weekend. The Alfred State volleyball team wrapped up play at the tournament on Saturday with a pair of 3-0 setbacks to SUNY Canton and Penn State Behrend.
Perkins led the Pioneers with seven kills and 10 digs in the blue & gold's 25-18, 25-18, 25-20 loss to SUNY Canton. Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) passed out 11 assists and Samantha Tumolo (Manorville/Eastport South Manor) passed out 10. Madison Webster (Corning) finished wtih six kills and 16 digs while Valerie Intini (Rochester/Eastridge) had 13 digs.
Perkins recorded eight kills and six digs in a 25-20, 25-10, 25-12 loss to Behrend. Webster finished with five kills and seven digs, Raichlin passed out a team high 11 assists, and Intini was credited with nine digs.
Perkins finished with 32 kills and 28 digs in the four games played at the Lycoming Tournament.
The Pioneers are back in action next weekend when they co-host the Alfred Tournament with Alfred University. Action is slated for the Orvis Activities Center on Friday with the Pioneers battling Lycoming at 3 p.m. and Lynchburg (VA) at 7 p.m.
