Lady Spikers Down Beaver and DuBois

The Alfred State volleyball team swept past both Penn State Beaver and Penn State DuBois in a tri-match at DuBois on Saturday afternoon.  With the wins the Lady Pioneers are now 8-1 on the year.

The blue & gold defeated Beaver 25-8, 25-12, 25-4.  Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) led the way with eight kills and four digs while Mallory Eberhardt (Lyons) chipped in seven kills, 10 digs, and two aces.  Lera Braun (Waterloo) had 21 assists, six kills, and six digs and Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) added five kills and three blocks.

In the second match, Alfred State defeated DuBois 25-15, 20-10, 25-4.  Grace Hall (Ellicottville) led the way with 12 kills while Jessica Padley (Sweet Home) had seven kills and six aces.  Braun finished with 18 assists and four aces while Eberhardt pitched in nine digs.

The Lady Pioneers head to the Oswego Tournament next weekend and will compete vs. Oswego, Geneseo, Elmira, and Hamilton in the two day event starting on Friday evening.
