Julia Yanarella (Wappinger Falls/Roy Ketcham) tallied the lone score as the Alfred State women's soccer team fell 3-1 at Pitt-Bradford on a warm Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers (6-4) have now won four straight contests.
Abby Celesky got the Panthers on the board in the 27th minute after getting a pass from Kaitlyn Williams. Just under five minutes later, Julie Barton made it 2-0 heading into halftime with her first goal of the season.
Williams added an insurance goal 3:24 into the 2nd half after getting a pass from Courtney Shade. Yanarella got the Pioneers on the board in the 82nd minute after getting a pass from Michayla Salatel (Geneseo). The blue & gold couldn't get any closer the rest of the way.
Pitt Bradford outshot Alfred State 15 to 8. Sarah Dailey made four saves to earn the victory in net while Allison Danielak (Brockport) made six saves for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers (4-3) are back in action on Friday when they host Villa Maria at 6 p.m.
