Marcedes Caver (Cleveland, OH) had a season high 34 points as Alfred State defeated Hilbert 72-64 on Monday evening. The Pioneers are now 2-3 on the season and the Hawks are 1-7.
Caver scored 19 of her 34 points in the 1st half in which the Lady Pioneers built a 42-26 lead. She was 6 for 7 from the field and 4 for 4 from three-point land. She finished the day 10 for 14 from the field (4 for 5 from three and 10 for 16 from the foul line).
Ardaisha Hudson (Brooklyn/Food & Finance) also finished in double figures with 10 points and six rebounds. Helena Covington (Elmira Free) came off the bench and chipped in nine points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers shot 46.6% from the field on the day compared to the Lady Hawks shot just 29.9%.
Kylie Reinholz led Hilbert with 18 points while Natalie Whitman finished with 17.
Alfred State returns to the court on Wednesday when they host SUNY Delhi at 6 p.m.
