Union County College led 4-2 at halftime and didn't allow Alfred State back into the contest en route to a 10-6 victory. The Pioneers fall to 1-2 on the young season.
Brandon Griffin (Corning East) led the way with three goals and an assist while Keegan Phalen (East Aurora) found hte back of the net twice. Dave Ford (Elmont/Sewanhaka) scored once while Frankie Martin (Whitney Point) and Bradley Murdoch (Auburn) both were credited with assists.
Mike Alessi (Liverpool) made 17 saves in net for the Pioneers.
The Owls led 4-2 at half and held a 9-4 advantage at the end of three quarters.
