The Alfred State men's basketball team ended their 2012-13 season with a convincing 75-59 victory over Jamestown CC. The Pioneers finish 11-17 (3-11 WNYAC) on the year.
The trio of Marquis Chatman (Allen, TX), Jamar White (Laurel, MD), and Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) combined for 66 of the Pioneers 75 points. Chatman connected on seven 3-pointers for the second straight game and finished with 25. He also added 10 boards. White chipped in 22 points and seven boards while Hutson narrowly missed a triple-double and finished with 17 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds.
The Pioneers shot 42.7% from the field and were 8 for 30 from three. JCC shot just 30.5% from the field and 17.4% from three.
Tyreek Jewell led the Jayhawks with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Michael Forrest added 13 and Calving Sterling finished with 12.
The contest end the Pioneers men's basketball era in the NJCAA. The win was the 821st in the 55 years of NJCAA competition (821-693).
