Pioneers Fall in Back and Forth Affair

Alfred State and Mercyhurst North East battled back and forth in an exciting WNYAC contest. The Saints used a run mid-way through the 2nd half to propel them to a 83-72 victory.

Mercyhurst led 43-40 at half but the Pioneers responded with a 15-3 run to start the second half.  The Saints chipped away at the Pioneers lead and took a 62-61 lead and were able to extend the lead to double digits.

Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) connected on six 3-pointers and had 29 points.  He added five assists.  Jamar White (Laurel, MD) finished with 19 points and Adam Fezza (Southhampton) had 11.

The Saints were 24 for 33 from the foul line and pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.

The Pioneers (10-16, 2-10) return to action next Thursday when they host Genesee CC at 7:30 p.m.
