Pioneers Fall to Niagara
The Alfred State men's basketball team hung tough with Niagara CCC but could never overcome an early 10-point deficit. Niagara earned the 68-53 victory to improve to 15-6, 6-1 on the year while Alfred is now 8-14, 1-8.
Ethan Baker led Niagara with 15 points while Jordan Street had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Isaiah Johnson finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.
NCCC shot 38.1% from the field and connected on eight 3-pointers. They also held a 49 to 29 advantage on the boards.
Jamar White (Laurel, MD) was 9 for 14 from the foul line and led the blue & gold with 15 points. Adam Fezza (Southhampton) finished with 13 points while Wade Franklin (Arkport) came off the bench and had eight points.
Alfred shot 34.8% from the field but was only 5 for 21 from three-point land.
The Pioneers return to action on Thursday when they travel to Medaille College to take on their JV squad.
