Alfred State running back Rasheed Williams (Swedesboro, NJ) added a third honor following his record breaking day vs. Apprentice. Williams was named the ECAC Division III Northwest Offensive Player of the Week.
Williams carried the ball 36 times for a new school record 335 yards in the Pioneers 55-41 Homecoming victory over Apprentice. He averaged 9.3 yards per carry and had a long of 59 yards.
Williams was key in the Pioneers 27-0 run that took place in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. He scored three times on runs of 8, 27, and 41 yards to give the blue & gold a lead they would never relinquish.
On the year, Williams has 587 total yards rushing on 104 carries (5.6 average) and four touchdowns. He has passed the 100-yard plateau in back-to-back games.
Earlier in the week he was named the USCAA Offensive Player of the Week and was named the Alfred State Athlete of the Week.
Williams is the first Alfred State athlete to earn a weekly honor from the ECAC.
