Rasheed Williams (Swedesboro, NJ) had a record breaking performance as the Pioneers earned their first victory in the NCAA DIII era. For his solid performance, Williams has been named the Alfred State athlete of the week.
Williams carried the ball 36 times in the Pioneers 55-41 Homecoming victory over Apprentice. He accumulated 335 yards and three scores on the day. His 335 yards in a game breaks the program's previous best of 292 held by Nabil Ra'Qib El-Amin.
Williams had touchdown rushes of 8, 27, and 41 yards. His longest run of the day was 59 yards and he averaged 9.3 yards per carry.
On the year he has rushed for 587 yards on 104 carries (5.6 average). His rushing yards have accounted for 47% of the blue & gold's offense.
Williams and the Pioneers head to Media, PA this weekend to take on Williamson Trade. Opening kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. vs. the Mechanics.
