The 2017 Alfred State baseball team will look to improve on their win total in 2016 as they battle in a 37 game schedule. The team will look to gain a spot in the USCAA World Series with solid play.
The season starts with a pair of three game series in Virginia. The team will travel to Apprentice (Newport News, VA) in mid-February and then to Emory & Henry (Emory, VA) on the first weekend in March.
The team will head to the Cal Ripken Experience during spring break where they are slated for eight games. They will take on Lancaster Bible, Albertus Magnus, Wells, Emory & Henry, and Rutgers-Newark.
The northern part of the schedule starts with a three-game road trip to Fisher College (Lynn, MA) and then continues with games vs. opponents from the NEAC, the Empire 8, and the AMCC. The Pioneers will play nine games at home this spring.
With success during the regular season the team will be vying for a spot in the USCAA World Series. The 2017 Series will be held May 14-18 in Glens Falls, NY.
