Colton Caldwell (Dublin, OH) threw a complete-game two-hitter to lead the Pioneer baseball team to their first victory of the season. For his effort he has been named the Alfred State athlete of the week.
Caldwell allowed just two singles in seven innings of work to lead the Pioneers to a 1-0 victory over Chesapeake College on Sunday afternoon. He walked two and struck out two in the contest. Caldwell also was 1 for 3 with a double at the plate in the contest
On the season, Caldwell has a 1-0 record with a 1.80 ERA in 10 innings pitched. He has allowed just three hits while walking five and striking out five.
Caldwell and the Pioneers head to Myrtle Beach, SC this weekend to play ten games over spring break at the Ripken Experience.
