    Former Alfred State football and track and field athlete Rod Streater is returning to Western New York. The wide receiver in his sixth season in the NFL signed a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills this morning.

    Alfred State senior outfielder Cullen Franz (Cazenovia) has added three more postseason honors. Franz recently has earned honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA),, and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).
  • Trio of Pioneers Earn AD3I Postseason Honors

    A trio of Alfred State softball players have earned All-Independent honors in an announcement recently made by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I). Senior shortstop Stormi Kruger (Medina) and sophomore cather Melissa Barber (Nassau/Catholic Central) were 1st team selections while Annie Corrao (Grand Island) was named 2nd team.
  • Alvarado Named All-ECAC North

    Alfred State attackmen Teddy Alvarado (Hilton) has been named a All-ECAC North 1st team following a solid 2017 campaign. He becomes the first Pioneer to earn postseason honors from the ECAC.
  • Five Pioneers Honored by AD3I, Franz Named Player of the Year

    Five members of the Alfred State baseball team have earned All-Independent baseball team honors in an announcement recently made by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I). Senior Cullen Franz was named the Player of the Year and was joined on the 1st team by Garrett Mack (Avon), and Thomas Shofi (Carmel). David Zuber (Honeoye Falls Lima) and Lucas Cornell (Alfred Almond) were 2nd team selections.

    Anders Presthus (Lansing) finished 8th in both the shot put and the discus as the Alfred State men's track & field team finished 20th at the 2017 ECAC Championships in Westfield, MA.
  • Barber Named All-ECAC North

    Alfred State sophomore catcher Melissa Barber (Nassau/Catholic Central) has been named an honorable mention All-ECAC North. The announcement comes days after Barber was named a 2nd team All-American by the USCAA.

    Zach Curran (Williamson) finished 2nd in the pole vault as Alfred State competed on day one of the ECAC Championships at Westfield (MA) State.
  • Alfred State Hosts 5th Annual Track & Field Spectacular

    For the 5th consecutive year, the athletic department hosted local Special Olympians at the Alfred State Track & Field Spectacular. Over 250 athletes along with their teachers and aides competed at Pioneer Stadium on May 11th.

    Alfred State baseball players Nick Geyer (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy), Nick Mahoney (Lakewood, OH), and David Zuber (Honeoye Falls Lima) have earned USCAA National All-Academic team honors for their accomplishments in the classroom.

    Alfred State softball players Melissa Barber (Nassau/Catholic Central) and Stormi Kruger (Medina) have both been named USCAA All-Americans. Barber was a 2nd team selection while Kruger earned honorable mention honors.
