A trio of Alfred State athletes have been named ACAA Players of the Week. Senior Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) was named the volleyball offensive player of the week, senior Brandon Holley (Livonia) was named men's soccer offensive player of the week, and senior Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) was named men's cross country athlete of the week.
Godfrey led the Pioneers with 15 kills, five digs, and two blocks in their 3-0 victory over Medaille last week. Godfrey leads the blue & gold with 61 kills (2.77 per set) and has recorded 34 digs and 10 service aces.
Holley was part of three of the Pioneers four goals this week. He scored two goals, including the game-tying goal, in the team's 3-3 match at Pitt Bradford and passed out an assist on the lone goal vs. D'Youville. His five points leads the team thus far.
Hanss led the Pioneers to a 5th place finish at the Oswego Invitational. He toured the 8-kilometer course in 27:12.8, an improvement of 1:42 from the previous week at Finger Lakes CC. Hanss has been the top finisher in all three of the team's competitions thus far this season.
