Alfred State senior guards Marquis Edwards (Queens/In-Tech Academy) and Tyrone Davis (Brooklyn/Benjamin Banneker) have been named the #PioneerPinpoint athletes of the week.
Edwards led the team with 33 points last week (11 ppg). He connected on six three-pointers, was 5 for 6 from the foul line and grabbed nine rebounds. He scored 20 points and added four rebounds and three assists in the 78-70 victory over D'Youville. On the year he is leads the team with 132 points and 19 three-pointers.
Davis had a solid all-around week. He averaged 8.7 points per game (26 total), 7.3 assists (22 total), and three rebounds (9 total). He scored 10 points and passed out nine assists vs. D'Youville, scored eight and was credited with six assists vs. Maine Fort Kent, and had 8 points and seven assists vs. Maine Presque Ilse. On the year he has 99 points and 83 assists.
Edwards and Davis helped the Pioneers to a 2-1 week and the blue & gold have won four of their last five contests.
