Alfred State Accepted into USCAA
The Alfred State athletic department has been accepted into the United State Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) starting in the 2013-14 school year. This announcement comes just week's after Alfred State was accepted into DIII of the NCAA.
The USCAA is a national organization that exists to provide quality athletic competition on a regional and national level. The USCAA focuses specifically on smaller institutions of higher learning and their student-athletes. The association believes that all athletes and programs deserve the same national opportunities as larger institutions. We are an organization that can provide those opportunities.
The USCAA will provide Alfred State student athletes with the opportunity for postseason play and postseason honors during the college's provisional years. Alfred State athletes will also be eligible for USCAA player of the week honors.
The USCAA offers national championships in the following sports offered at Alfred State: men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, and softball. The USCAA also hosts a wrestling meet that features a majority of the wrestling schools in the association and is in the process of developing a football championship.
Alfred State is not a stranger to the USCAA as the Pioneers have competed vs. Penn College of Technology (Williamsport, PA), The Apprentice School (Newport News, VA), and Southern Virginia University in the past.
