Baseball: 13-25, 11-8 Region III Division III
The Pioneers were 6-1 this past week and climbed right into the thick of things for a berth into the Region III Division III Tournament.
Colton Caldwell (Dublin, OH) hit .438 on the week with a homer and 5 RBI to continue his torrid hitting. He also picked up a victory on the mound. Steven Stapleton (Williamsville/Sweet Home) and Jordan Wheaton (Wayland Cohocton) both hit .400 for the week. Wheaton collected a team high 7 RBI on the week while Stapleton earned a victory on the mound. Alfred hit .292 on the week but took advantage of 41 walks and 17 hit by pitches.
Stephen Solomon (Harrisburg, PA) was 2-0 on the week in 12 innings of work. He allowed just one earned run and struck out 13. The Pioneers had a 4.19 ERA for the week.

Softball: 7-25, 6-19 Region III Division III
The Lady Pioneers were 3-7 this past week in their busiest stretch of the year. After starting slow this week, the blue & gold won three of their last four.
Aubri Mosier (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford) hit .452 with six doubles and six RBI on the week. Kristen Potter (Harrison Valley, PA/Northern Potter) hit .300 with 7 RBI while Brooke Gustin (Wellsville) hit .290 with six RBI.
On the mound Clarissa Swain (Dansville) tossed 36 innings (2.92 ERA) and registered two victories while Potter pitched 30 innings and earned a shutout victory over Delhi.

Track & Field: Men #4, Women #5 in latest NJCAA DIII poll
Brian Edwards (Neversink/Tri-Valley) and Desmond Chambers (Rochester/Gates Chili) had the best individual performances at St. John Fisher on Saturday. Edwards was 2nd in the discus (43.38 m) and Chambers was 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 7.02 m.
Nate Andres (Arcade/Pioneer) was 5th in the 400 (50.82), Robert Howard (Syracuse/Nottingham) was 5th in the shot put (13.96 m), Travis Nagle (Randolph) was 6th in the pole vault (3.90 m), and Tylor Lehman (Wellsville) was 6th in the javelin (44.44 m). Brian Tubbs (Chemung/Waverly) was 7th in the 400 (58.17), Edwards was 7th in the shot put (13.90 m), and Logan Phillips (Genesee Valley) was 8th in the 400 hurdles (58.17).
The 4x400 relay of Josiah Thomas (Rochester/John Marshall), Tubbs, Zach Woodard (Adams Center/South Jefferson), and Andres won in 326.62 while the 4x100 relay team of Ismail El-Amin (Rochester/Wilson), Woodard Chambers, Tubbs, and finished 2nd in 43.76.
Tiara Summers (Staten Island/Port Richmond) led the women with a 6th place finish in the 100 m (13.20).
Earlier in the weekend, the men's 4x400 relay team shaved eight seconds off their season best time as they competed at the prestigious Penn Relays. The Pioneers quartet of Andres, El-Amin, Thomas, and Tubbs finished 3rd in their heat, 4th in NJCAA schools, and 54th overall with a time of 3:22.87
In the Region III Multi last Sunday and Monday, Travis Nagle earned 2nd place in the decathlon while Jolene Paonessa (Lodi/South Seneca) was 3rd in the heptathlon.
