Baseball: 2-15


The Pioneers return to action this week after having their scheduled doubleheader vs. Brock University cancelled.  The team opens up Region III Division III play this week with contests vs. Erie CC and Broome CC.

Lacrosse: 2-4, 1-1 Region III West

The Pioneers split a pair of Region III West division contests.  They fell 17-6 to #3 Genesee CC and then defeated Cayuga CC 14-6.

Versus Genesee, Six different Pioneers found the back of the net. Nate Spoor (Penn Yan), Frank Martin (Whitney Point), Bradley Murdoch (Auburn), Keegan Phalen (East Aurora), Dave Ford (Elmont/Sewanhaka), and Michael Maranga (Rockaway/St. Edmund) all scored while Brandon Griffin (Corning East) passed out two assists. Tim Randall (Churchville Chili) also picked up an assist.  Mike Alessi (Liverpool) made 20 saves for the Pioneers in net.

Alfred State trailed 5-3 at halftime but scored 11 of the games 12 goals in the 2nd half to race to a 14-6 victory over Cayuga CC.  Phalen had a career day for the blue & gold. He found the back of the net six times including three goals in the decisive 3rd quarter. Griffin chipped in a goal and four assists while Murdoch and Martin each had two goals and an assist.  Alessi recorded the win in net making eight saves.

Softball: 2-10, 1-4 Region III Division III

The Lady Pioneers will be back in action this week after having last week off.  They open up Region III Division III northern play with doubleheaders with Jamestown Olean and Erie CC this week.

Track & Field: Men #2, Women #5 in latest NJCAA DIII poll

The track & field team had the week off after their scheduled home meet was cancelled due to the poor weather in the southern tier.  The team will look to continue their outdoor season this weekend at the Nazareth Invitational
